About The Position

Store Team Members at Pet Supplies Plus provide friendly, knowledgeable service to customers and their pets. The role may involve helping customers choose pet products, explaining food ingredients and animal care, fitting pets with equipment, processing purchases, stocking shelves, and caring for animals in the store. Team members may specialize as a Cashier, Stocker, or in Pet Care, but may perform work across these areas. The position can be physically demanding and involves heavy lifting of 40–65 pounds and standing for long periods. Pet Supplies Plus supports learning through interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and pass a drug screening in applicable states.

Requirements

Be knowledgeable about animals and products to provide customer service.
Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Be able to lift 40–65 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
Help customers select pet toys, food, harnesses, and other products, including comparing food ingredients.
Educate customers about pet ownership and animal care.
Process purchases accurately and efficiently.
Provide information about Preferred Pet Club membership and offers.
Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
Stock shelves with pet products.
Carry purchases such as kibble, cat litter, and aquariums out to customers’ cars.
Care for store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
Support coworkers by acting as backup when additional help is needed.
