About The Position

A Store Team Member at Pet Supplies Plus provides friendly, knowledgeable service to customers and their pets. The role may include helping customers select products and understand pet care, stocking shelves, processing purchases, carrying purchases to customers’ cars, and caring for animals in the store. Team members may specialize as a Cashier, Stocker, or Pet Care team member, though the position may involve work across these areas. The work can be physically demanding, including heavy lifting of 40–65 pounds and standing for long periods. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and pass a drug screening where applicable.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Must pass a drug screening in applicable states.
Be knowledgeable about animals and products to provide customer service.
Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Able to lift 40–65 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
Help customers select appropriate pet toys, food, harnesses, and other products; compare product ingredients and answer animal-care questions.
Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
Provide information about Preferred Pet Club membership and available offers.
Unload delivery trucks safely using proper equipment.
Stock shelves with pet food, toys, treats, and other products.
Carry customers’ purchases, including bags of kibble, cat litter, and aquariums, to their cars.
Care for store pets by cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
Support coworkers by acting as backup when extra help is needed.
