About The Position

Pet Supplies Plus Store Team Members provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets. The role may include cashiering, stocking, and pet care, with team members potentially specializing in one or more of these areas. Team members help customers choose pet products, provide information about animals and pet care, process purchases, stock merchandise, carry purchases to customers’ vehicles, and care for the pets in the store. The position can be physically demanding, involving lifting 40–65 pounds and standing for extended periods. Pet Supplies Plus supports learning through interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years old.
Pass a drug screening in applicable states.
Be knowledgeable about animals and products to provide customer service.
Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Able to lift 40–65 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Help customers select pet toys, food, harnesses, and other products, including reviewing product ingredients when requested.
Provide information about animal ownership and care and answer customers’ animal-care questions.
Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
Provide information about Preferred Pet Club membership and offers.
Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
Stock shelves and merchandise.
Carry purchases such as kibble, cat litter, and aquariums to customers’ cars.
Care for store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
Act as backup for coworkers when additional help is needed.
Provide friendly, engaging service to customers and their pets.
