About The Position

Store Team Members at Pet Supplies Plus provide friendly, knowledgeable service to customers and their pets. They help customers select pet products, compare food ingredients, fit pets with harnesses, and answer questions about animal ownership and care. Team members may also stock shelves, process purchases, care for animals in the store, and help carry purchases to customers’ vehicles. The role may specialize in cashier, stocker, or pet care duties. The position can be physically demanding, requiring heavy lifting of 40–65 pounds and standing for long periods. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and pass a drug screening where applicable. The company supports learning through interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs and pet care training.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years old.
Pass a drug screening in applicable states.
Be knowledgeable about animals and pet products to provide customer service.
Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Be able to lift 40–65 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
Help customers select suitable pet toys, food, harnesses, and other products.
Educate customers about animal ownership and care.
Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
Provide information about Preferred Pet Club memberships and offers.
Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
Stock shelves with pet food, toys, treats, and other products.
Carry customer purchases, including bags of kibble, cat litter, and aquariums, to their vehicles.
Care for store animals, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling them.
Answer customer questions about animal care.
Support teammates by providing backup when extra help is needed.
