The full-time Store Team Leader (Store Manager) leads the store as an entrepreneurial-minded business owner, maximizing daily operations and financial performance while developing a strong team through coaching and training. The role drives operational excellence, delivers a best-in-class guest experience, and maintains AEO Brand Standards. The Store Team Leader is expected to bring their authentic self to work every day.

Requirements

• Previous experience leading functional teams in a retail management role.
• Ability to multitask, attention to detail, strong prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to lead and develop teams and a general understanding of employment law.
• Effective communication and conflict-management skills.
• Business acumen and ability to analyze reporting to drive sales.
• Flexible availability to work when guests shop.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales by maximizing store productivity and building guest loyalty through a best-in-class guest experience.
• Create, manage, and own the store business plan to meet KPI goals.
• Analyze reporting and daily sales trends to make real-time business decisions and achieve store financial goals, including managing controllable elements of the store P&L.
• Recruit, hire, and retain a high-performing team; support associate development, internal opportunities, and succession planning.
• Develop store leadership through leadership development training, performance feedback, individual development plans, and annual performance reviews.
• Build a culture of teamwork and recognition by setting and communicating goals, holding the team accountable to brand standards, and recognizing strong performance.
• Maintain AEO Brand Visual Standards and own visual and merchandising processes, including Floorsets, merchandise adjustments, and replenishment.
• Ensure the team understands its role in keeping the store guest-ready.
• Evaluate traffic, calendars, and payroll reports to adjust schedules to business needs, manage payroll, and use talent effectively.
• Make compensation decisions with integrity and ensure audit and shrink results meet Asset Protection Standards.
• Follow AEO policies and procedures and act with integrity.
• Maintain flexible availability to work when guests shop.
