About The Position

The full-time Store Team Leader (Store Manager) is responsible for leading the store as an entrepreneurial-minded business owner. The role maximizes daily operations, drives sales and store financial goals, develops a high-performing team, and ensures operational excellence and adherence to AEO Brand Standards. The Store Team Leader analyzes business performance and makes strategic decisions while creating a strong guest experience and bringing their authentic self to work.

Requirements

• Previous experience leading functional teams in a retail management role.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time with attention to detail.
• Ability to lead and develop teams and a general understanding of employment law.
• Effective communication and conflict-management skills.
• Business acumen and ability to analyze reporting to drive sales.
• Flexible availability to work when guests shop.
• Passion for AE and Aerie products.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales by maximizing store productivity and building guest loyalty through a best-in-class guest experience.
• Create, manage, and own the store business plan to meet KPI goals.
• Analyze store reporting and daily sales trends to make real-time business decisions and achieve financial goals.
• Recruit, hire, retain, and develop a high-performing team; encourage internal opportunities and maintain a succession plan.
• Develop store leaders through leadership training, performance feedback, individual development plans, and annual performance reviews.
• Establish and communicate goals, hold the team accountable to brand standards, and recognize outstanding performance.
• Maintain AEO Brand Visual Standards and own visual and merchandising processes, including Floorsets, merchandise adjustments, and replenishment.
• Ensure the team understands its role in keeping the store guest-ready.
• Use traffic, calendars, and payroll reports to create and adjust schedules to meet business needs, manage payroll, and leverage talent effectively.
• Make compensation decisions with integrity and ensure audit and shrink results meet Asset Protection Standards.
• Follow AEO policies and procedures and act with integrity.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to work when guests shop.
