Store Shift Supervisor
About The Position
The Shift Supervisor oversees store operations, generally acting as Manager on Duty and performing functions needed for successful store operation. The role takes direction from the Store Manager and makes key decisions about store resources and operations. The supervisor also directly oversees multiple aspects of the store and is responsible for ensuring associates work safely, efficiently, and productively. The position requires a high school diploma or GED. An associate degree or two years of experience is preferred. Responsibilities
- Act as Manager on Duty in most cases and perform functions needed for successful store operation.
- Take direction from the Store Manager and make key decisions about store resources and operations.
- Execute merchandising plans and maintain in-stock conditions throughout the store.
- Engage customers, communicate with them, provide associates with feedback and service results, and resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
- Oversee work assignments to make effective use of associates’ talents and abilities while maximizing profits.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, including lunch breaks and minor scheduling restrictions.
- Oversee departmental procedures for receiving, producing, and replenishing merchandise, including inspecting deliveries and ensuring pricing accuracy, freshness, quality, and product rotation.
- Ensure required logs are maintained according to company policy.
- Ensure associates work and operate equipment safely and comply with OSHA requirements, price-accuracy requirements, and weights and measures laws.
- Conduct daily walks of the entire store and exterior property to identify successes and opportunities, provide direction and feedback, and remain visible and accessible to associates and customers.
- Support and execute company programs to achieve desired business results.
- Communicate company policies to associates and ensure they understand and follow them.
- Supervise multiple aspects of the store and ensure associates work safely, efficiently, and productively.
