Store Shift Supervisor
About The Position
The Store Shift Supervisor at Pet Supplies Plus provides neighborly service to customers and their pets while supporting store team leaders with daily operations. The role includes setting an example for team members, reinforcing operational standards, and providing leadership coverage when team leaders are offsite. The supervisor may also perform regular store team member duties when not acting as manager-on-duty or learning operational tasks. The position supports a friendly, safe, and well-run store by following procedures for cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security; completing back-office tasks; and contributing to recruiting, onboarding, and team development. Candidates must be willing to perform nail trims on pets.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of retail experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong sales and customer service skills.
- Ability to operate all store equipment, including a forklift.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must pass drug screening where allowed by law.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
- Set an example for team members in delivering customer service.
- Partner with store team leaders to learn and reinforce company standards and daily management routines.
- Provide leadership coverage and perform management functions up to four times a week when team leaders are offsite.
- Follow operational policies and procedures for cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security.
- Learn and perform back-office procedures, including making signs, updating price changes, and inputting cashier records.
- Participate in store recruiting, onboarding, and team member development.
- Communicate opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance to team leaders.
- Perform store team member duties when not acting as manager-on-duty or learning operational tasks.
- Perform nail trims on pets.
