About The Position

The Store Shift Supervisor provides neighborly customer service to pet owners and supports store operations at Pet Supplies Plus. The role partners with store team leaders to learn and reinforce company standards and daily management routines, provides leadership coverage and performs management functions when team leaders are offsite, and also works as a store team member when not serving as manager on duty or learning operational tasks. The supervisor helps maintain cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security standards; performs back-office procedures such as making signs, updating prices, and entering cashier records; and participates in recruiting, onboarding, and team member development. The role also communicates opportunities to improve community engagement and store performance and may perform nail trims on animals.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of retail experience, Microsoft Office proficiency, and strong sales and customer service skills. Candidates must be able to operate store equipment, including a forklift, and meet the physical requirements of climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Flexible scheduling, reliable transportation, passing a drug screening where permitted by law, and being at least 18 years old are also required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Ability to operate all store equipment, including a forklift.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work flexible schedules.

• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Partner with store team leaders to learn and reinforce PSP standards and daily management routines.
• Provide leadership coverage and cover management functions up to four times a week when team leaders are offsite.
• Follow operational policies and procedures for cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security.
• Learn and perform back-office procedures, including making signs, updating price changes, and entering cashier records.
• Participate in store recruiting, onboarding, and team member development.
• Communicate opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance to team leaders.
• Perform store team member duties when not acting as manager on duty or learning operational tasks.
• Perform nail trims on animals.
