About The Position

The Store Shift Supervisor oversees store operations during assigned shifts and, in most cases, serves as Manager on Duty. The role takes direction from the Store Manager and makes key decisions about store resources and operations. It includes direct supervisory responsibilities across multiple aspects of the store, ensuring associates work safely, efficiently, and productively. The supervisor executes company programs and policies and helps achieve desired business results.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or two years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Act as Manager on Duty in most cases and perform functions necessary for successful store operation.
Take direction from the Store Manager and make key decisions about store resources and operations.
Execute merchandising plans and maintain in-stock conditions throughout the store.
Engage with customers, communicate with them, and provide associates with feedback on service results.
Resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
Oversee work assignments to use associates’ talents and abilities while maximizing profits.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, including lunch breaks and minor scheduling restrictions.
Oversee procedures for receiving, producing, and replenishing merchandise, including delivery inspections, pricing accuracy, freshness, quality, and product rotation.
Ensure required logs are maintained according to company policy.
Ensure associates work and operate equipment safely and comply with OSHA requirements, price accuracy requirements, and weights and measures laws.
Conduct daily walks of the entire store and exterior property to identify successes and opportunities, provide direction and feedback, and remain visible and accessible to associates and customers.
Support and execute company programs to achieve desired business results.
Communicate company policies to associates and ensure they are understood and followed.
Ensure associates work safely, efficiently, and productively.
