About The Position

The Store Shift Supervisor oversees store operations while serving as Manager on Duty in most cases. The role takes direction from the Store Manager and makes key decisions regarding store resources and operations. The supervisor oversees associates and departmental procedures, supports company programs and policies, and helps maintain safe, efficient, and productive store operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or two years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Act as Manager on Duty in most cases and perform functions needed for successful store operation.
Take direction from the Store Manager and make key decisions about store resources and operations.
Execute merchandising plans and maintain in-stock conditions throughout the store.
Engage customers, communicate with them, provide associates with feedback on service results, and promptly resolve customer issues.
Oversee work assignments to make effective use of associates’ skills and abilities while maximizing profits.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, including lunch breaks and restrictions on scheduling minors.
Oversee procedures for receiving, producing, and replenishing merchandise, including product inspection, pricing accuracy, freshness, quality, and rotation.
Ensure required logs are maintained according to company policy.
Ensure associates work safely and operate equipment safely, comply with OSHA requirements, and follow price accuracy, weights, and measures laws.
Conduct daily walks of the entire store and exterior property to identify successes and opportunities, provide direction and feedback, and remain visible and accessible to associates and customers.
Support and execute company programs to achieve desired business results.
Ensure company policies are communicated to, understood by, and followed by associates.
Supervise multiple aspects of the store and ensure associates work safely, efficiently, and productively.
