Store Shift Supervisor
About The Position
The Store Shift Supervisor at Pet Supplies Plus provides friendly, exceptional service to neighbors and their pets while helping store team leaders maintain daily operations and performance standards. The role provides leadership coverage and performs management functions when team leaders are offsite, while also carrying out regular store team member duties when not acting as manager on duty or learning operational tasks. The supervisor supports store operations, including cleanliness, animal care, safety, security, back-office procedures, recruiting, onboarding, and team member development. The role also involves communicating opportunities to improve community engagement and store performance, and performing nail trims on pets.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of retail experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong sales and customer service skills.
- Ability to operate store equipment, including a forklift.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must pass drug screening where allowed by law.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, neighborly customer service to customers and their pets.
- Set an example for team members in delivering customer service.
- Partner with store team leaders to learn and reinforce company standards and daily management routines.
- Provide leadership coverage and perform management functions up to four times a week when team leaders are offsite.
- Follow operational policies and procedures for cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security.
- Learn and perform back-office procedures, including making signs, updating price changes, and inputting cashier records.
- Participate in store recruiting, onboarding, and team member development.
- Communicate opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance to team leaders.
- Perform store team member duties when not acting as manager on duty or learning operational tasks.
- Perform nail trims on pets.
