About The Position

The Store Shift Supervisor supports store team leaders in maintaining Pet Supplies Plus standards and daily management routines. The role provides leadership coverage and handles management functions up to four times a week when team leaders are offsite, while also serving as a store team member when not acting as manager on duty or learning operational tasks. The supervisor helps deliver friendly, exceptional service to neighbors and their pets, reinforces operational procedures, supports recruiting and team development, and communicates opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance. The role also includes performing nail trims on pets.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of retail experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong sales and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate store equipment, including a forklift.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work flexible schedules.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a drug screening where allowed by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, neighborly customer service to store visitors and their pets.
• Set an example for team members in delivering customer service.
• Partner with store team leaders to learn and reinforce store standards and daily management routines.
• Provide leadership coverage and perform management functions up to four times a week when team leaders are offsite.
• Follow operational policies and procedures for cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security.
• Learn and perform back-office procedures, including making signs, updating price changes, and inputting cashier records.
• Participate in store recruiting, onboarding, and team member development.
• Communicate opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance to team leaders.
• Work as a store team member when not acting as manager on duty or learning operational tasks.
• Perform nail trims on pets.
