About The Position

The Store Manager leads the store team, builds community connections, and creates a seamless, welcoming customer and associate experience. The role is accountable for store performance, operational excellence, and coaching and developing a successful team. The Store Manager establishes a customer-centered vision and strategy, manages the store’s financial performance, and ensures the environment reflects Soma’s brand standards and hospitality culture.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• At least 5 years of retail management experience, including 2 years as a Store Manager.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ownership mindset and ability to lead by example.
• High level of accountability and initiative.
• Effective leadership, people management, and communication skills.
• Collaborative leadership style and commitment to developing talent.
• Strong business acumen and ability to drive results through reporting analysis and strategic planning.
• Action-oriented approach to organizing, delegating, and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
• Ability to bend, reach, stretch for products, maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom, operate the register, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, and coach an effective retail team.
• Own the store’s financial performance, manage payroll and schedules, and achieve sales goals.
• Communicate expectations, provide guidance and feedback, and empower the team.
• Use store reporting to create action plans that improve metrics and run the business effectively.
• Maintain a visually inspiring store environment that reflects brand standards.
• Share brand priorities, initiatives, and messages with store teams.
• Ensure compliance with policies, guidelines, and business practices.
• Build community connections through company-sponsored in-store events, philanthropy, and other initiatives.
