About The Position

The Store Manager in Training (SMIT) is a development-focused role designed to prepare the successful candidate for a CVS Store Manager position. The 16-week, self-paced and collaborative program includes virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Development is supported by a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach. The role involves contributing as a member of the store management team and developing leadership skills in customer care, merchandising, inventory and asset management, and team communication. Participation in the program does not guarantee promotion. Promotion timing depends on factors including performance and availability of openings.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
Willingness to accept promotion roles within the designated market and transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores in that market.
Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

Four-year college degree; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.

Responsibilities

Actively engage with your leader in Key Learning Experiences during the structured program.
Support the store as a member of the management team and lead consistently with CVS values and policies.
Engage colleagues in support of the company’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
Communicate verbally and in writing to support and lead the team.
Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service.
Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
Be willing to accept a Store Manager promotion at any location in the designated market and transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores in that market.
Work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
