About The Position
The Store Maintenance Person (Janitor) maintains the cleanliness and condition of the store, including floors, windows, trash areas, break rooms, restrooms, and the manager’s office. The role includes customer service, operating floor-cleaning equipment, preparing linens for laundry pickup, and changing light bulbs. Training is provided at the store level. Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function, and other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management. The position requires bending and stooping, handling cleaning chemicals, lifting up to 40 pounds, and remaining on one’s feet for the entire 4–8-hour shift. Applicants must be 18 or older. For internal candidates, store/facility teammates are preferred to have at least six months of employment with Schnucks, and Store Support Center teammates are preferred to have at least one year. Internal candidates must be in good standing; interview invitations require manager approval based on performance.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
- Maintain floors by scrubbing with appropriate pads and chemicals, stripping, polishing, and re-glossing.
- Operate scrub and buffing machines.
- Empty trash inside and outside the store.
- Clean windows, break rooms, restrooms, and the manager’s office.
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures.
- Prepare linens for laundry pickup.
- Change light bulbs.
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties assigned at the discretion of store management.
