About The Position

The Bagger provides friendly, courteous service to customers by packing their purchases, placing filled bags in carts, and carrying purchases to customers’ cars. The role also involves retrieving carts, maintaining cleanliness in the store and parking lot, stocking bags, handling returned merchandise, and verifying merchandise prices. Training is provided at the store level. Candidates must be available between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., including Saturdays and Sundays, and the role offers 20 or more hours per week.

Requirements

• Must be available between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.
• Must be available Saturdays and Sundays.
• Must be able to bend and stoop.
• Must be able to push 3 to 5 carts at a time.
• Must be able to work outside in seasonal weather.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to remain on their feet for an entire 4- to 8-hour shift.

Nice To Haves

• For store or facility teammates applying internally, a minimum of six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
• For Store Support Center teammates applying internally, a minimum of one year of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
• Internal candidates must be in good standing, not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline; interview invitations require manager approval based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
• Place customers’ purchases into bags and put filled bags in carts.
• Carry customers’ purchases to their cars.
• Retrieve carts from the parking lot.
• Pick up paper and debris in the store, parking lot, and carts.
• Stock bags at check stands.
• Empty trash from check stands and the service center.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Return merchandise left at checkout to shelves.
• Read and understand shelf tags.
• Verify merchandise prices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
