About The Position
The Day Bagger provides friendly, courteous service to customers by bagging purchases, placing filled bags in carts, and carrying purchases to customers’ cars. The role also includes retrieving carts, keeping the store and parking lot clean, stocking bags, returning merchandise to shelves, and helping verify merchandise prices. Training is provided at the store level. Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job. Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The position requires bending and stooping, pushing three to five carts at a time, working outdoors in seasonal weather, lifting up to 50 pounds, and remaining on one’s feet for an entire shift of 4–8 hours. For internal candidates, six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred for Store/Facility Teammates, and one year is preferred for Store Support Center Teammates. Candidates must be in good standing, not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline. If invited to interview, manager approval based on performance is required. Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
- Place customers’ purchases into bags and place filled bags in carts.
- Carry customers’ purchases to their cars.
- Retrieve carts from the parking lot.
- Pick up paper and debris in the store, parking lot, and carts.
- Stock bags on check stands.
- Empty trash from check stands and the service center.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Return merchandise left at checkout to shelves.
- Read and understand shelf tags.
- Verify merchandise prices.
- Perform other duties assigned by store management.
