About The Position

The Checker provides courteous customer service, accurately checks out purchases, processes payments and coupons, and bags orders. Candidates must be available between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., including Sundays, and the role offers 20–25 hours per week. Store-level training will be provided. Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
Must be available between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., including Sundays.
Must be able to bend and stoop.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to work on their feet for the entire shift, which lasts 4–8 hours.

Nice To Haves

For Store/Facility Teammates applying internally, a minimum of six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
For Store Support Center Teammates applying internally, a minimum of one year of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
Internal candidates must be in good standing, not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline.
Internal candidates invited for an interview must have manager approval based on performance.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
Greet customers before checking their orders.
Accurately check out customer purchases.
Identify produce items and properly use produce and product codes.
Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons and process manufacturer coupons.
Collect the correct amount due from customers.
Accept cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers, and other payment options according to proper procedures.
Complete register records accurately.
Practice and maintain cash security.
Bag customer orders.
Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes.
Perform other duties assigned by store management.
