About The Position

The Checker provides friendly, courteous service while accurately processing customer purchases and payments. Candidates must be available between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., including Saturdays and Sundays. The role offers 25 or more hours per week. Store-level training will be provided. Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
Must be available between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., including Saturdays and Sundays.
Must be able to bend and stoop.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to work on feet for the entire 4–8-hour shift.

Nice To Haves

For store or facility teammates, a minimum of six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
For Store Support Center teammates, a minimum of one year of employment with Schnucks is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
Greet customers before checking their orders.
Accurately check out customer purchases.
Identify produce items and properly use produce and product codes.
Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons.
Process manufacturer coupons.
Collect the correct amount due from customers.
Follow proper procedures for accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers, and other payment options.
Complete register records accurately.
Practice and maintain cash security.
Bag customer orders.
Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes.
Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
