About The Position

The Store Maintenance Person (Janitor) provides friendly, courteous service to customers and performs cleaning and maintenance duties at the store. Training is provided at the store level. The role offers 20–25 hours per week. Candidates must be available between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., including weekends, to be considered. Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Must be able to bend and stoop, handle cleaning chemicals, lift up to 40 pounds, and remain on feet for an entire 4–8-hour shift.

Nice To Haves

For internal Store/Facility Teammates, a minimum of six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
For internal Store Support Center Teammates, a minimum of one year of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
Internal candidates must be in good standing, not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline. If invited to interview, manager approval based on performance is required.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
Maintain floors by scrubbing with appropriate pads and chemicals, stripping, polishing, and re-glossing.
Operate scrub and buffing machines.
Empty trash inside and outside the store.
Clean windows.
Clean break rooms, restrooms, and the manager’s office.
Follow safety and sanitation procedures.
Prepare linens for laundry pickup.
Change light bulbs.
Perform other duties assigned at the discretion of store management.
