About The Position

The Store Leader is the heart and soul of the store and, with one or more Assistants, forms the store’s leadership team. The role executes merchandising and marketing initiatives, drives profitability, develops the skills of the store team, and ensures customers are well taken care of. The Store Leader Trainee role is intended for candidates with supervisory experience who want to work as part of a management team. 7-Eleven provides training and advancement opportunities, including a promote-from-within philosophy.

Requirements

• Previous supervisory experience.
• Ability to provide customer service leadership, training, and coaching.
• Ability to oversee merchandising and marketing programs and use P&L and store reports to affect change.
• Ability to manage cash handling and fuel transactions and promote a rewards loyalty program.
• Ability to comply with health and sanitation procedures and maintain a clean, safe, presentable, well-stocked store.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer knowledge; Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required for candidates with at least one year of retail management experience.
• Valid driver’s license from the state of residence and automotive liability insurance throughout employment.
• Ability to multitask, perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED, unless the candidate has at least one year of retail management experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and provide customer service leadership, training, and coaching for all store employees.
• Focus on retention by identifying qualified applicants, developing leaders, empowering employees, and encouraging productivity.
• Oversee and implement merchandising and marketing programs.
• Use P&L and store reports to affect change.
• Manage cash handling and fuel transactions, and promote the rewards loyalty program.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store by following health and sanitation procedures and ensuring products are in stock.
