Store Director - South Detroit Market
About The Position
The Store Director is accountable for team members at all levels and the overall operation of a Meijer store in the South Detroit Market. The role leads the store in accordance with Meijer’s leadership expectations and core values, with the goal of maximizing financial success and providing customers with the best possible shopping experience. The Store Director is responsible for customer service, financial stability, retail operations, and operational and merchandising standards, and develops a team that consistently meets productivity and customer service goals. The role uses retail leadership and service expertise to maximize sales, maintain fiscal responsibility, provide excellent customer service, coach and develop team members and leaders, ensure appropriate staffing and training, maintain corporate, safety, and regulatory procedures, and build relationships with the local community. Consideration requires experience at the Store Director or District Manager level.
Requirements
- Experience as a Store Director or in a District Manager-level role is required for consideration.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent retail experience.
- At least 5 years of retail or service industry experience.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience, including management of leaders with direct reports.
- At least 3 years of retail leadership experience.
- Experience leading a retail or service operation with at least $40 million in annual sales revenue, through single- or multi-unit responsibility.
- Position may require lifting, carrying, and other physical acts.

- General Merchandise and Grocery/Fresh experience preferred.

- Oversee the total operation of the store and team members at all levels.
- Maximize sales and maintain fiscal responsibility.
- Provide excellent customer service throughout store operations.
- Mentor and coach team members and leaders to help ensure goals are met and exceeded.
- Ensure the store is properly staffed with well-trained team members.
- Professionally develop existing team members and develop future leaders.
- Maintain corporate, safety, and regulatory procedures to provide a safe and stable work environment.
- Maintain operational and merchandising standards.
- Cultivate relationships in the local community to support the Meijer brand.
