About The Position

Meijer is seeking a Store Director for its East Detroit Market. The Store Director is accountable for Team Members at all levels and for the total operation of the store, leading in accordance with Meijer’s leadership expectations and core values to maximize financial success. The role shapes the customer experience, steers operational excellence, and develops a team that consistently meets productivity and customer-service goals while maintaining operational and merchandising standards. The Store Director uses retail leadership and service expertise to support the store and team, analyze financial data, maximize sales, and maintain fiscal responsibility. The role includes mentoring and coaching team members and leaders, ensuring appropriate staffing and training, professionally developing employees, maintaining a safe and stable work environment, and building local community relationships that support the Meijer brand. Consideration requires experience as a Store Director or in a District Manager-level role. East Detroit Market locations listed include Grand River Avenue in Detroit; Van Dyke Avenue in Sterling Heights; Royal Oak; West 8 Mile Road in Detroit; Roselle; Shelby Township; 23 Mile Road in Chesterfield; Fraser; Madison Heights; Warren; Clinton Township; and Warren at Schoenherr.

Requirements

Experience as a Store Director or in a District Manager-level role is required for consideration.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent retail experience.
Five years of retail or service industry experience.
Three years of leadership experience, including managing leaders with direct reports.
At least three years of retail leadership experience.
Experience leading a retail or service operation with at least $40 million in annual sales revenue, through single-unit or multi-unit responsibility.
Ability to receive and maintain licenses required for the store’s operations.
Position may require lifting, carrying, and other physical acts.
