About The Position

Meijer is hiring a Store Director for its South Detroit Market, which includes locations in Belleville, Carpenter Road in Ypsilanti, Taylor, Saline Road in Ann Arbor, Westland, Southgate, Scio Township, Lincoln Park, Flat Rock, Woodhaven, and Allen Park, Michigan. The Store Director is accountable for team members at all levels and the overall operation of the store, ensuring a strong customer shopping experience and operational and merchandising standards. The role leads the store in accordance with Meijer’s leadership expectations and core values to support financial success, customer service, and productivity. The Store Director develops team members and future leaders, maintains fiscal responsibility, and builds relationships in the local community. Consideration requires experience as a Store Director or in a District Manager-level role.

Requirements

• Experience as a Store Director or in a District Manager-level role is required for consideration.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent retail experience.
• Five years of retail or service industry experience.
• Three years of leadership experience, including managing leaders with direct reports.
• At least three years of retail leadership experience.
• Experience leading a retail or service operation with at least $40 million in annual sales revenue, through single-unit or multi-unit responsibility.
• The position may require lifting, carrying, and other physical acts.

• Oversee the total operation of the store and lead team members at all levels.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout store operations and support a positive shopping experience.
• Analyze financial data, maximize sales, and maintain fiscal responsibility.
• Mentor and coach team members and leaders to help them meet and exceed goals.
• Ensure the store is properly staffed with well-trained team members and support their professional development.
• Maintain corporate, safety, regulatory, operational, and merchandising standards.
• Build relationships in the local community and support the Meijer brand.
• Develop a team that consistently meets productivity and customer service goals.
