About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk. The role is accountable for customer service, cash handling and accounting, merchandise stocking and presentation, housekeeping, store safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. Store Clerks also perform outdoor cleaning and maintenance and other duties assigned by management. In smaller locations, the Store Clerk performs all deli duties described in the deli job description.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and handle cash and accounting duties.
Operate the computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
Remember regular customers’ names and faces; answer and screen phone calls; monitor the store; detect shoplifters; and listen to and handle customer complaints.
Stock, price, rotate, and display merchandise, including shelves and coolers.
Complete shift work accurately and effectively, clean and maintain all store areas, and complete vendor check-in procedures.
Complete the protocol system and “drive off” controls, and advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Maintain store safety and security and perform housekeeping inside and outside the store.
Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Keep the hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee area, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform deli food sales and cooking, including all deli duties in smaller locations.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
