About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk to provide customer service and support the daily operation of a store. The role includes cash handling and accounting, merchandise stocking and display, housekeeping, safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. Store Clerks may also perform all deli duties at smaller locations.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
Operate a computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
Remember regular customers’ names and faces, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store, detect shoplifters, and support store security.
Stock shelves and coolers; price, rotate, and display merchandise.
Complete shift work and vendor check-in procedures, and follow the protocol system and “drive off” controls.
Clean and maintain all store areas, including the lot, gas pumps, and food-service equipment and stations; shovel snow and replenish water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Keep hot dog rollers, nacho and popcorn machines, the condiment center, coffee area, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
