About The Position
Town Pump is seeking a motivated, outgoing Store Clerk to provide customer service and support the daily operation of the store. The role includes cash handling and accounting, merchandising, housekeeping, safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. The position is listed as a swing shift role at $16.50 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
- Operate the computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, process checks, and bag merchandise.
- Recognize regular customers, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store, and detect shoplifters.
- Stock, price, rotate, and display merchandise, including stocking shelves and coolers.
- Complete shift work accurately and effectively, vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and drive-off controls.
- Clean and maintain all areas of the store, including housekeeping inside and outside.
- Support store safety and security, and inform the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect operating performance.
- Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
- Keep hot dog, nacho, and popcorn machines, the condiment center, coffee area, and fountain dispenser clean, filled, and stocked.
- Perform deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
