About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated, outgoing Store Clerk for day and swing shifts at Flying J @the Wye. The role is accountable for customer service, cash handling and accounting, stocking, pricing, rotating and displaying merchandise, housekeeping inside and outside the store, safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. The position also includes completing assigned management duties and performing deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and handle cash and accounting duties.
Operate the computerized cash register; give correct change; scan credit cards; accept and process checks; and bag merchandise.
Recognize regular customers, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store, detect shoplifters, and listen to and handle customer complaints.
Stock shelves and coolers; price, rotate, and display merchandise; and complete shift work accurately and effectively.
Clean and maintain all areas of the store, including outdoor areas; complete vendor check-in procedures; and maintain store safety and security.
Complete the protocol system and drive-off controls, and advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Keep the hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee area, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform all deli duties in smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
