About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing overnight Store Clerk for Flying J at the Wye. The role is accountable for customer service, cash handling and accounting, merchandising, housekeeping, store safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. The position also includes outdoor store and site upkeep and other duties assigned by management. The listed pay is $17.50 or more per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
Operate the computerized cash register; give correct change; scan credit cards; accept and process checks; and bag merchandise.
Handle cash and accounting tasks.
Remember regular customers, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store, detect shoplifters, and support store security.
Stock, price, rotate, and display merchandise, including stocking shelves and coolers.
Complete shift work and vendor check-in procedures, and use the protocol system and “drive off” controls.
Clean and maintain all areas of the store, including housekeeping inside and outside.
Maintain store safety and advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Keep hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform deli duties in smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
Carry out other duties assigned by management.
