About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated, outgoing Store Clerk. The position is accountable for customer service, cash handling and accounting, merchandise stocking and presentation, housekeeping, store safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. Store Clerks also perform assigned duties that support store operations and advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
• Operate a computerized cash register; give correct change; scan credit cards; accept and process checks; and bag merchandise.
• Remember regular customers’ names and faces, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store, detect shoplifters, and maintain store security.
• Stock shelves and coolers; price, rotate, and display merchandise; and complete shift work accurately.
• Clean and maintain all areas inside and outside the store, including store equipment and food-service areas.
• Complete vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and “drive off” controls.
• Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
• Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
• Keep the hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee area, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
• Perform deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
