About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk to provide excellent customer service and support store operations. The role includes cash handling and accounting; stocking, pricing, rotating, and displaying merchandise; maintaining cleanliness inside and outside the store; supporting store safety and security; and selling and preparing deli food. The clerk also performs assigned duties and advises the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and handle cash and accounting tasks.
Operate the computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
Recognize regular customers, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store, detect shoplifters, and listen to and handle customer complaints.
Stock shelves and coolers; price, rotate, and display merchandise; and complete shift work accurately and effectively.
Clean and maintain all areas of the store, including the exterior and parking lot; shovel snow; clean gas pumps; and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Complete vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and “drive off” controls.
Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Keep hot dog rollers, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment centers, coffee areas, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
