About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk. The role is accountable for customer service, cash handling and accounting, stocking and displaying merchandise, maintaining the store and its exterior, store safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. The clerk operates a computerized cash register and performs customer-facing, merchandising, cleaning, vendor check-in, and shift-work duties. In smaller locations, the clerk performs deli duties described in the deli job description.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
Operate the computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
Handle cash and accounting.
Stock, price, rotate, and display merchandise, including stocking shelves and coolers.
Complete shift work accurately and effectively and complete vendor check-in procedures.
Maintain store safety and security, police the store, detect shoplifters, and complete protocol-system and drive-off controls.
Remember regular customers’ names and faces, and answer and screen phone calls.
Clean and maintain all areas inside and outside the store; sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Keep hot dog rollers, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment centers, coffee areas, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform deli sales and cooking duties, including all deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
