About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated, outgoing Store Clerk to provide customer service and support store operations. The role includes cash handling and accounting; stocking, pricing, rotating, and displaying merchandise; maintaining cleanliness and safety inside and outside the store; and supporting deli food sales and cooking. The position also involves operating computerized register systems, assisting customers, monitoring store security, completing shift procedures, and performing other duties assigned by management.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service, handle cash and accounting, and sell and cook deli food.
Operate a computerized cash register; give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
Recognize regular customers, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store, detect shoplifters, and respond to customer complaints.
Stock shelves and coolers; price, rotate, and display merchandise; and complete shift work accurately and effectively.
Clean and maintain all areas inside and outside the store, including sweeping the lot, shoveling snow, cleaning gas pumps, and filling water and cleaning-solution buckets at the islands.
Complete vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and drive-off controls.
Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Keep hot dog rollers, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment centers, coffee areas, and fountain dispensers clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
