About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated, outgoing Store Clerk to provide excellent customer service and support store operations. The role includes cash handling and accounting, merchandise stocking and presentation, housekeeping, store safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. Store Clerks operate computerized registers, assist customers, maintain store and outdoor areas, perform shift work and vendor procedures, and carry out other duties assigned by management. At smaller locations, the role also includes all deli duties described in the deli job description.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
Operate a computerized cash register; give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
Handle cash and accounting tasks.
Stock, price, rotate, and display merchandise; stock shelves and coolers.
Complete shift work accurately and effectively, including vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and drive-off controls.
Maintain housekeeping, safety, and security inside and outside the store; police the store and detect shoplifters.
Answer and screen phone calls and remember regular customers’ names and faces.
Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Keep hot dog rollers, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment centers, coffee areas, and fountain dispensers clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform deli duties at smaller locations, including food sales and cooking.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
