About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk. The role is accountable for customer service, cash handling and accounting, merchandise stocking and display, store housekeeping and safety, security, and deli food sales and cooking. Store Clerks operate a computerized register, assist customers, maintain store and outdoor areas, complete shift and vendor procedures, and perform other duties assigned by management. In smaller locations, the Store Clerk performs all deli duties described in the deli job description.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
Operate a computerized cash register; provide correct change; scan credit cards; accept and process checks; and bag merchandise.
Handle cash and accounting responsibilities.
Remember regular customers’ names and faces, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store, detect shoplifters, and support store security.
Stock shelves and coolers; price, rotate, and display merchandise.
Complete shift work accurately and effectively, vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and “drive off” controls.
Clean and maintain all areas inside and outside the store and support store safety.
Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Keep hot dog rollers, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment centers, coffee areas, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform deli food sales and cooking, including all deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
