Part-Time Store Cashier/Stocker

About The Position

ALDI is hiring enthusiastic part-time cashiers and stockers to support store operations and provide customers with an excellent shopping experience. Cashiers deliver friendly, efficient checkout service, while stockers keep shelves and displays stocked and organized. The role averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $17.50 per hour. Wage increases are listed as $18.00 in Year 2, $18.50 in Year 3, $18.50 in Year 4, and $19.50 in Year 5. Employees may perform cashier, stocker, and general store duties, with or without reasonable accommodation. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m. The position involves physical activity, lifting and placing products weighing up to 45 pounds, working in freezer and cooler environments, operating store equipment, and using glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to work in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00 a.m.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Support a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zone and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process purchases, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering them to customers’ vehicles from the staging area in a timely manner.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
