About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time cashiers and stockers to support store operations and provide customers with a positive shopping experience. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service and stockers keep shelves and displays stocked and organized. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $19.00 per hour, with wage increases listed as $19.50 in Year 2, $20.00 in Year 3, $20.00 in Year 4, and $21.00 in Year 5. Employees may perform cashier, stocker, or other store duties. Cashiers use the point-of-sale system to process purchases, follow cash and checkout procedures, and complete curbside pickup orders. Stockers follow merchandising plans to replenish shelves and displays; stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m. The position involves customer service, maintaining store standards, adhering to policies and inventory procedures, cleaning, and supporting a safe working environment. Employees must be able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Stockers must be able to arrive at work as early as 5:00 a.m.
Ability to perform the listed physical demands, including lifting and placing products weighing up to 45 pounds and working in freezer and cooler environments.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, prompt, and efficient customer service, and escalate customer concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zone and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process customer purchases, and inform management of scanning concerns or errors.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional lanes as required.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving items, verifying order contents, and delivering orders to customers’ vehicles in a timely manner.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
