About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time cashiers and stockers to support store operations and provide customers with a positive shopping experience. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service and may complete curbside pickup orders. Stockers keep shelves and displays stocked and organized according to merchandising plans. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $18.50 per hour, with listed wage increases through Year 5. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance and meet availability requirements.
Ability to perform the job's physical demands, including lifting and placing products weighing up to 45 pounds and working in freezer and cooler environments.
Stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00 a.m.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service, and escalate customer concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Follow company policies, processes, cash procedures, inventory procedures, and product-handling guidelines.
Help maintain a safe work environment by identifying and addressing hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in working order.
Maintain store zone and merchandising standards.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately, and report scanning concerns or errors to management.
Follow checkout line policies and open additional lanes as needed.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders to customers' vehicles in a timely manner.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
