About The Position

ALDI is hiring enthusiastic part-time cashiers and stockers. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service, while stockers keep shelves stocked and organized. Both roles support smooth store operations and an excellent customer shopping experience. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $20.00 per hour. Wage increases are listed as $20.50 in year 2, $21.00 in year 3, $21.00 in year 4, and $22.00 in year 5. Employees perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. They follow customer service principles and company policies, support store management in meeting operational efficiency and total loss goals, maintain a safe working environment, uphold store zone and merchandising standards, follow inventory and product-handling procedures, and perform general cleaning. Cashier duties include accurately scanning and processing purchases using the point-of-sale system, following cash and checkout-line procedures, opening additional checkout lanes as needed, and completing curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering them to customers’ vehicles. Stocker duties include neatly stocking shelves and displays according to merchandising planograms. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance and meet availability requirements.
Ability to perform the required physical activities, including pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00 a.m.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process customer purchases accurately and inform management of scanning concerns or errors.
Follow cash policies and procedures, adhere to the line policy, and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Retrieve and verify curbside pickup orders and deliver them to customers’ vehicles in a timely manner.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
