Bloomington--Full-Time Store Associate Wine
About The Position
Binny's is seeking a full-time wine store associate to support its wine department and provide customer service. Applicants should have a passion for wine and strong customer service skills to help drive sales. The company provides on-the-job training and educational opportunities to support career development in wine retail. The role involves assisting customers and developing sales, building knowledge of wine and other store products, and helping keep the wine department and store organized and effectively merchandised. This includes moving, stocking, and staging products. Associates may also be asked to assist in other departments.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Good working knowledge of wine varietals, countries, and regions.
- Ability to taste wines professionally as allowed for educational purposes.
- Ability to lift 40–50 pounds.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong desire to provide superior customer service.
- Ability to count cash and make change accurately.
- Ability to operate business machines, including scanners and computer keyboards.
- Ability to pass any applicable alcohol training class and maintain a current certification card.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and managers.
- Ability to follow directions and complete assignments.
- Ability to write legibly and read small type.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to repeatedly walk up and down stairs.
- Ability to work in cold areas.
- Ability to work scheduled hours and maintain consistent, regular attendance.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail experience, experience in the wine and spirits industry, or hospitality industry is preferred.
- Entry-level wine knowledge is acceptable; on-the-job training and educational opportunities are provided.
Responsibilities
