About The Position

Binny's is hiring a wine staff member for its South Loop store. The role supports wine sales and provides exemplary customer service, while building knowledge of wine and other store products. Entry-level wine knowledge is acceptable; on-the-job training and educational opportunities are provided to support a career in wine retail. The position involves working with the team to organize and merchandise the wine department and store, including moving, stocking, and staging products, and may include assisting in other departments.

Requirements

Have a passion for wine and superior customer service skills.
Have a good working knowledge of wine varietals, countries, and regions.
Be able to taste wines professionally for educational purposes, as allowed.
Be over 21 years of age.
Be able to lift 40–50 lbs.
Be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Be able to count cash and make change accurately.
Be able to operate business machines such as scanners and computer keyboards.
Be able to pass any applicable alcohol training class and maintain a current certification card.
Be able to communicate effectively with customers and staff.
Be able to follow directions and complete assignments.
Be able to write legibly and read small type.
Be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods and repeatedly walk up and down stairs.
Be able to work in cold areas and work scheduled hours.
Maintain consistent and regular attendance.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail experience.
Experience in the wine and spirits industry or hospitality industry.
