About The Position

Binny's is seeking a wine staff member who is passionate about fine wines and committed to providing superior customer service. The Store Associate Wine assists customers with selections and supports sales while continuing to develop knowledge of wine and other store products. The role includes helping keep the wine department and store organized and effectively merchandised by moving, stocking, and staging products, and may include assisting in other departments. On-the-job training and educational opportunities are provided to support a career in wine retail.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Have a good working knowledge of wine varietals, countries, and regions.
• Be able to taste wines professionally as allowed for educational purposes.
• Be able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Have a strong desire to provide superior customer service.
• Be able to count cash and make change accurately.
• Be able to operate business machines such as scanners and computer keyboards.
• Be able to pass any applicable alcohol training class and maintain a current certification card.
• Be able to communicate effectively with customers and managers.
• Be able to follow directions and complete assignments.
• Be able to write legibly and read small type.
• Be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods and repeatedly walk up and down stairs.
• Be able to work in cold areas.
• Be able to work scheduled hours and maintain consistent, regular attendance.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail experience, experience in the wine and spirits industry, or hospitality industry is preferred.
• Candidates with entry-level knowledge will be considered.
