About The Position

Binny's is hiring a full-time wine staff member for its South Loop store. The role supports wine sales and provides exemplary customer assistance. The associate develops knowledge of wine and other store products and works with the team to keep the wine department and store organized and effectively merchandised, including moving, stocking, and staging products. The associate may also assist in other departments. On-the-job training and educational opportunities are provided to support a career in wine retail.

Requirements

Passion for wine and strong desire to provide superior customer service.
Good working knowledge of wine varietals, countries, and regions.
At least 21 years of age.
Able to lift 40–50 lbs.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Able to count cash and make change accurately.
Able to operate business machines, including scanners and computer keyboards.
Able to pass any applicable alcohol training class and maintain a current certification card.
Able to effectively communicate with customers and staff.
Able to follow directions and complete assignments.
Able to write legibly and read small type.
Able to stand and/or walk for extended periods and repeatedly walk up and down stairs.
Able to work in cold areas and work scheduled hours.
Consistent and regular attendance.
Able to taste wines professionally for educational purposes, as allowed.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail experience.
Experience in the wine and spirits industry or hospitality industry.
