About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time store associates, cashiers, and stockers. Store associates handle both cashier and stocker duties. Associates merchandise and stock products, provide customer service at checkout, and clean the store. Cashiers scan and process purchases, follow cash and checkout procedures, and fulfill curbside pickup orders. Stockers replenish and organize shelves and displays according to merchandising plans; they must be able to start work as early as 5:00 a.m. All roles contribute to efficient store operations and a positive customer shopping experience. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $17.50 per hour, with stated wage increases in later years.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00 a.m.

Nice To Haves

Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Support a safe work environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zone and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process customer purchases accurately and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Retrieve items for curbside pickup orders, verify order contents, and deliver orders to customers’ vehicles from the staging area in a timely manner.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Store associates perform both cashier and stocker responsibilities.
