About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time store associates, cashiers, and stockers. Store associates handle both cashier and stocker responsibilities. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service, while stockers keep shelves and displays stocked and organized. All roles contribute to store operations and a positive customer shopping experience. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $18.00 per hour, with listed wage increases to $18.50 in year 2, $19.00 in year 3, $19.00 in year 4, and $20.00 in year 5. Employees model customer service principles, support store management in meeting operational efficiency and total loss goals, follow company policies, help maintain a safe workplace, uphold store and merchandising standards, follow inventory and product-handling procedures, and perform general cleaning. Cashiers use the point-of-sale system to process purchases, follow cash and checkout-lane procedures, and complete curbside pickup orders. Stockers stock shelves and displays according to merchandising plans and must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Stockers must be able to arrive at work as early as 5:00 a.m.
Ability to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Ability to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Model customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as needed.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and addressing hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zones and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product-handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and report scanning concerns or errors.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow checkout-line policy and open additional lanes as required.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders to customers’ vehicles in a timely manner.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
For store associate roles, perform both cashier and stocker responsibilities.
