About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time store associates, cashiers, and stockers. Store associates handle both cashier and stocker responsibilities. Associates help merchandise and stock products, process customer purchases, and clean the store. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service and may fulfill curbside pickup orders. Stockers keep shelves and displays neat and organized while following merchandising plans. All roles contribute to smooth store operations and a positive customer shopping experience. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $19.00 per hour. Listed wage increases are $19.50 in Year 2, $20.00 in Year 3, $20.00 in Year 4, and $21.00 in Year 5. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Work independently and with others.
Organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Meet availability requirements.
Push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zoning and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process purchases and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the line policy and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering them promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
