About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time store associates, cashiers, and stockers. Store associates perform both cashier and stocker duties. Associates help merchandise and stock products, operate checkout, complete curbside pickup orders when assigned, and clean the store to maintain an excellent customer shopping experience and smooth operations. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $18.50 per hour, with stated wage increases in later years. Employees model customer-service principles, support store management’s operational efficiency and total loss goals, follow company policies and procedures, help maintain a safe workplace, uphold store-zone and merchandising standards, follow inventory and product-handling guidelines, and complete general cleaning. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m. The work involves frequent movement and handling products weighing up to 45 pounds, including placing items on shelves at various heights and overhead. Employees may stock products in freezer and cooler environments and use cleaning products and store equipment.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Be able to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Be able to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Work independently and with others.
Organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes.
Maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Meet availability requirements.
Stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00 a.m.
Meet the physical demands of pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, moving between areas, and lifting, carrying, and placing products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer-service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store-zone and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product-handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process customer purchases, and inform management of scanning concerns or errors.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional checkout lanes as needed.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
For store associate roles, perform both cashier and stocker responsibilities.
