About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time store associates, cashiers, and stockers to support store operations and provide an excellent customer shopping experience. Store associates perform both cashier and stocker duties. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service and may complete curbside pickup orders. Stockers keep shelves and displays neat and organized, following merchandising plans. All roles include customer service, maintaining store standards, cleaning, and supporting a safe and efficient working environment. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $19.50 per hour. The posting lists wage increases by year: Year 2, $20.00; Year 3, $20.50; Year 4, $20.50; and Year 5, $21.50. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to work with products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Ability to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.
Stockers must be able to arrive at work as early as 5:00 a.m.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Model customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as needed.
Assist store management with operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Follow company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe workplace by identifying and correcting hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zoning and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately, and report scanning concerns or errors to management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional checkout lanes when needed.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering them promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Store associates perform both cashier and stocker responsibilities.
