About The Position

ALDI is hiring enthusiastic part-time store associates, cashiers, and stockers. Store associates perform both cashier and stocker duties. All roles help maintain smooth store operations and provide an excellent customer shopping experience. The starting wage is $18.50 per hour, with stated wage increases in years two through five. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week. Employees provide customer service, support store management’s operational efficiency and total loss goals, follow company policies and processes, maintain store and merchandising standards, follow inventory and product-handling procedures, and perform general cleaning. Cashiers process purchases using the point-of-sale system, follow cash and checkout-lane procedures, and complete curbside pickup orders. Stockers stock shelves and displays according to merchandising planograms and must be able to start work as early as 5:00 a.m. The position involves physical activity, handling products weighing up to 45 pounds, using store equipment and cleaning products, and stocking products in freezer and cooler environments. Duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Work independently and with others.
Organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Meet availability requirements.
Stockers must be able to arrive at work as early as 5:00 a.m.
Push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency goals and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and addressing hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in working order.
Maintain store zones and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product-handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional check lanes as needed.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
